At Sunday + anticipated New Year’s Day mass at our Village hall last December 31 8pm, I learned so much from the Homily. I was so geared and focused on new things coming up that I forgot to look back and let go. Let go of the past negative things and yes, let go even the positive things. Important things before we hug the new year.

Letting go of bad things
Bad attitudes.. let it go
Negative feelings and mentality.. let it go
Bad habits .. let it go
Things you don’t use.. let it go
Comparing yourself to others.. let it go
Too much time on social media .. let it go
Procrastinating.. let it go
Holding grudges.. let it go
Buying things you don’t really need.. let it go
Holding on to relationships that bring you down.. let it go
Trying to control all things.. let it go
Vices.. let it go
Saying you can’t.. let it go
Laziness.. let it go
And the list can go on and on and on….
Just whatever the stuff are that pull you down, let it go.
Why let go of even the positive?
After letting go of the bad things that happened in the past , we have to let go of the good as well. For example , we cling on to the good memories of a particular vacation and we don’t let go of it. Then we will keep comparing our next vacation to it. So how can we enjoy the experience if we keep comparing from the past experience? Letting go doesn’t mean forgetting but it means not being attached to something, someone, or some situation.
Let God
Let go and let God take over. Let God move things and believe in the direction you are meant to go. But of course , with your careful decision-making skills and strategic thinking. With a lot of prayer as well.
Father said we do so much superstitious beliefs from other cultures that we don’t realize the ultimate force more than any of the round “pampaswerte” stuff we have- GOD.
Stop and Go
STOP comparing, judging, stop the hate, and let go. We have another year to weed out the negative and unwanted matters in life. If you haven’t, now is the time to declutter (literally and figuratively). Let of items that you don’t use because others may find it useful.
GO and try new things. Go and don’t be scared. GO and make better decisions with your better self.

Resolutions
Resolutions are still good to inspire us but let’s just make a couple of realistic ones that we will really do. Resolutions that are as simple like living healthy, choosing the good, and believing you can are some simple things we can turn intro a good mantra for the year.
After all that’s been said and done, just be a better version of yourself and embrace 2024 with a thankful heart. Challenges will come because there will always be some. That’s life.
Give thanks always for we are here, alive, breathing, and enjoying life.
Happy New Year!
Tina
