So here’s my first empty bottle review. So, maybe you’re thinking why share about an empty bottle? I think it’s best to share my experience with a product once they’re empty to show how effective and how the product really faired long term. Of course we love and we want products that we will use regularly and not just for weeks or months.
I first tried these particular products last March 2017 and now tada! they’re empty and well-consumed.
Why Clinique?
I was looking for products that are simple, hypoallergenic, with no harmful chemical and ingredients, easy to purchase (for me, it’s about having an easy access to the store/ shop where I can buy it from), within my budget (I’m willing to spend more this time since I’m looking for some products with high quality), easy to apply, and something that I can use long term.
Clinique is a brand that has been tested through time and my mom used to use these too. It was a brand I grew up with and so why not try out some of their new and improved products? Worth a shot!
Empty bottles!
Hurray for empty bottles! Do you get that giddy feeling when you finished something to its last drop? Perhaps a bottle of shampoo, toothpaste, perfume, or makeup (especially this!)? I get this feeling every time and do feel that you want to reuse the bottle (especially if it’s nice) too? But take note, get rid of them if they’ll be just junk in your closet.
Here are my empty bottles this month:
These products are part of Clinique’s 3-Step skincare regimen – Cleanse, Exfoliate, Moisturize
Clinique Facial Wash
After such a long, busy, and tiring day, I use this before bedtime when I take my evening bath. After a day filled with activities – running after 2 kids, bath times, play times, cooking meals, teaching kids, chores, errands, and a lot more- the reward I can give my skin is giving it good products to rest overnight and face another busy day the next day. Using this is an effective cleanser and removes the powder and other simple makeup I apply on my skin.
Comes in 3 skin-typed formulas:
- Extra-Mild – Very Dry to Dry Skin – 5.0 fl oz
- Mild – Dry Combination skin – 5.0 fl oz (this one’s my skin type)
- Oily Skin Formula – Combination Oily to Oily skin – 5.0 floz
It lathers nicely and rinses off nicely. It has a mild smell. It’s also mild enought not to hurt my eyes and leaves my skin smooth and clean. Just a pea size or a little more is enough when you wash. I didn’t have a breakout or had dry skin. It’s great for sensitive skin and it’s basic but gets the job done. Giving this product an 8.5/10
Clinique toner / Clarifying lotion
This is the 2nd step of Clinique’s 3-step skincare campaign- exfoliate. The last time I had a good toner was back in high school and the others I used had more alcohol content in them so they felt fresh and clean. I just realized that eventually the alcohol ingredients in skincare products will eventually dry out the skin and make it more prone to wrinkles and blemishes. So trying this new toner felt so liberating for me.
Variants of this product is also available to match your skin type.
Packaging is great and clean. I love products wih neat and refreshing packaging. Simplicity is key. After applying this, my skin feels fresh and cool instantly (for real). I use this once or twice a day and after I apply moisturizer too. Wih this, makeup residues are also removed. Giving rhis product an 8.5/10
Remember, every skin may react differently to products. You have to find that right product your skin loves. It’s a trial and error thing sometimes.
Now time to replenish my Clinique wash and toner!
